Ever wish you could shop hands-free and without a heavy purse hanging on your shoulder? I have. But I’m not about to leave my beloved cell phone in the car – that would feel like driving without a seatbelt! 😦
I’ve walked around the grocery store on more than one occasion carrying my cell phone, bank card, and car keys when I was wearing an outfit with no pockets to put them in. Did I mention that I carried all 3 with 1 hand? I’ve perfected wearing the keychain ring on my ring finger while holding my bank card and cell phone in my palm. That leaves me the other hand to push the buggy and shop. Hardly hands-free! Sorta defeats the purpose! But I’m not about to wear a fanny pack – I’m too young for that!
I was happy to discover a phone purse at SheLuvsTech that I could wear like a wristlet. And it comes in my favourite colour orange! I could slip my bank card in there no problem. FYI, use coupon code GIFT15 to save 15% until November 26, 2013.

I have been in love with the colour orange this summer. Now that we’re halfway through August and the days are getting shorter, I’m already starting to feel bummed about having to put my bright orange summer pieces away in the fall. I’ve enjoyed sporting orange in my makeup, clothing, and accessories, such as this free Glytone beach bag I got with my order from Beauty Store Depot.
Enter orange in the blue search box on the upper right of my blog for additional posts.
Ooops! Looks like I’ve disturbed the princess from her afternoon nap on the deck.
Wearing orange has perked up my mood and energy, helping me hike up to the summit of Mt. Thom in the summer afternoon heat in this ruffle tank top from Cleo. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can… Whew! The view was worth it!
My wonderful husband brought me home a beautiful bouquet of flowers with some orange Gerbera daisies for our 10-month anniversary (woo hoo!). I grow Gerbera daisies every summer, but these ones are spectacular!
Yes, orange has been good to me this summer. I’m going to finish off summer with a bang, wearing orange, orange, and more orange!
What colour are you going to miss when summer is over?
Vancouverites – you just can’t satisfy them! We complain a lot about the copious amounts of rain and cloudy skies we get here. We yearn for summer most of the year, but then on days like today (102 degrees in the shade), we complain that it’s too hot! But we do treasure these precious summer days and try to make the most of them. If you can’t beat the heat, join it!
I don’t know about you, but I can’t get enough of the colour orange this summer! It just makes everything pop, from lip gloss to nail polish to clothing to shoes. Here are some orange Franco Sarto peep toe shoes that I recently got at Marshall’s. They are flaming orange but look reddish orange in the picture because it was taken indoors at night time.
To see my coral glitter-fade manicure from last month, check out my previous post Colour Is In! Today I was ready for something bolder on my nails. Big thanks to my patient husband for taking a gazillion pictures of my orange French tips and orange wedges from different angles until I was happy. It sure helps that we’re newlyweds. And that I picked up some ice cold Alexander Keith’s for him on my way home from the nail salon.
Want to be on-trend this summer? The biggest fashion statement you can make is colour! Choose bright, fun colours for your makeup and clothing. If you don’t like drawing too much attention to yourself, don’t worry, just add a splash of vivid colour to your accessories.
An easy place to introduce colour into your look is your nail polish selection. What’s hot in manicures these days? Acrylic nails, French twists, glitter fades, metallics, and accent nails. Now throw in some bright colours and you’re on-trend!
Below is the coral mani & pedi combo that I am currently sporting. I chose a softer shade for my glitter-faded nails, and a bolder shade of orange for my toes (OPI’s Dress to Empress), with white flowers as an accent. The camera doesn’t do the glitter fade justice. It’s much prettier in person!
The manicurist was kind enough to take some pictures for me in the nail salon. When I sent a picture to my husband, this is what he sent back to me:
